SEND Coordinator within the Inclusion Department

Permanent, Full time

Salary: Qualified: P24-P35 (£23,643 – £32,749), unqualified: P20-23 (£21,211-£22,954)

Location: Bath

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team of SEND Coordinators within the Inclusion Team. 

The role includes responsibility for a case load of 16-25 year-old SEND Learners with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and/or learners who request exam access arrangements.  The Learners are primarily accessing level 1 to level 3 vocational programmes in college, including GCSE Maths and English. 

The successful candidate will be committed to a learner-centred approach in their work methods, be flexible and confident with excellent interpersonal skills. They will have a strong commitment to equality and diversity and to working with people who have faced a range of challenges and support needs.

The successful candidate will need to show enthusiasm, flexibility and good communication skills.  They will also need to possess good organisation and administrative skills.  They will have a proven track record for developing literacy and numeracy skills in small group or on a 1:1 basis and meeting the needs of learners with a variety of learning difficulties and disabilities.  The post holder will need to be able to take initiative and to be committed to supporting learners exceed their expectations. 

In addition, the post holder will be required to maintain professional and effective relationships with a wide range of internal and external partners including colleagues from the Local Authorities.

The successful candidate will possess a teaching qualification (or be prepared to work towards gaining this qualification within two years as part of a higher level apprenticeship) and a good understanding of the current SEND environment.
